Providence House History and Goal

For more than 28 years, Providence House has been in the forefront of helping homeless families with children overcome the causes of homelessness, including lack of affordable housing, extreme poverty, and unemployment, through its proven service-delivery model. We require accountability and responsibility from both the families and ourselves in overcoming these obstacles and achieving our shared goals. Since 1993 we have served 4803 families, a total of 15, 987 people that included 9840 children and 5,824 adults providing more than 1,530,195 nights of shelter and a program to ultimately break the cycle of homelessness. Providence house was established to provide housing, supportive services, training, employment and opportunities for homeless families with children to break the cycle of homelessness.
