All Programs

The residential program provides behavioral and mental health intervention for children who have behavior and emotional disorders resulting from abuse, neglect, and dysfunctional family systems. The framework of the program is based on trauma informed care and child development standards. Agency staff strive to build and environment that enhances individualized growth through four progressive stages built on child developmental needs. Cane River Children's Services provides an array of services that enrich the lives of children while providing the support they need to overcome adversity, achieve individual goals improve outcomes, and enhance their potential for success.

The Transitional Living program was developed to provide a placement resource for young adults that would assist them in making a positive transition into adult life. The program provides therapeutic support services, advanced independent living training, employment support, and guidance for life planning. Residents take an active role in learning how to manage their independence and life goals. Life skills classes are held to teach them advanced independent living skills. The Transitional Living program fosters individual potential and provides an avenue that gives young adults the skills and support they need to achieve their goals and make a healthy transition into adulthood.

The Community Counseling Program provides counseling for juveniles to promote emotional and social well being. The counseling services are open to the public and are provided by licensed therapists and behavior counselors. Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used in conjunction with Psycho-social Rehabilitation and Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment services. A substance abuse specialist is also available. A Child Advocacy Program was added in 2014 which focuses on domestic violence, dating violence, bullying prevention, and child victim identification for individuals who work with children.

The Therapeutic Foster Care program is designed to provide therapeutic support and family based intervention for children who have experienced abuse, neglect and dysfunctional childhoods. The program provides certified foster parents who incorporate a child into their home and family life. The parents are employed with the agency and paired with a caseworker who provides support and professional direction in working with the child. The goal of the program is to connect a child with a permanent family resource.
