Economic & Workforce Development
Despite a relatively low unemployment rate, the Shreveport MSA has poor household economic outcomes as measured by median income, median wages, and per capita income (to individuals) relative to our peer communities. Considering these factors with other economic outcome measures of income distribution, labor force participation rate, and productivity of the workforce, there is significant evidence of high levels of income inequality in our MSA.
